The competition was organised by GUSA and sponsored by Promasidor, producers of Cowbell milk.
Five public universities participated in the game.

Ghana would take part in soccer and athletics. Mr Prempeh described the performance of the athletes as wonderful despite the short notice given, as old records were broken.
When asked why the private universities were not invited, he said although it is unfortunate, "we are hoping that by the time the next game takes place in Winneba, the private universities would apply to participate in the GUSA games."
Mr Kweku Prempeh appealed to the press to assist GUSA activities with coverage and called on companies to sponsor them.
Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Mr O.B Amoah said the government is committed to enhancing sporting activities in the country. He said the ministry's major aim for the year is to reform the sports sector, through the passage of a new bill to see to the management of efficient sports.
He said the ministry would among other measures establish a sports trust fund and centre of excellence to restore stem the decline level of sports in the country.
President of GUSA Mr Aloysius Denkabe said it is through education that Ghana could churn good sportsmen and women. He said, "with further training, commitment and discipline we would be able to consolidate the gains made here."
Sales and Marketing Manager of Promasidor Mr Festus Tettey said Cowbell is happy to be associated with GUSA events and this is the first step. He promised a mutual and cordial relationship would be established between them.
