Harruna Attah writes on...
Finding fault with butterflies!

| Posted: Friday, April 08, 2005

I have a friend who says he can. That is if you want him to. That was said out of exasperation... …In reaction to the cacophony on our airwaves.

It's become increasingly difficult to winnow the chaff from the grain. A couple of days ago, the NDC wahalans held a press conference.

Glancing through their statement, I came across the following: "Wahala is about the abuse of citizens' economic, social or political rights by the powerful and greedy."

This is a classic case of "finding fault with butterflies". Who are the powerful and greedy, if one may ask? Certainly, I hope they are not telling us that the Jaguar-owning class is not powerful…and in many respects greedy.

That is how come they can choose to leave out the fact that Ghana has no criminal libel and with all the provocations and insults piled against the government and person of the president of Ghana, no one has employed state power to arrest or molest anybody.

Whatever molestation there has been was when they showed their true intolerant colours and manhandled media people covering their wahala!
