Alumni summit inaugurated

Jeffrey De-Graft Johnson | Posted: Monday, April 11, 2005

The Casely Hayford Hall (Casford) of the University of Cape Coast has launched its Alumni Summit in Accra.

In a media briefing in Accra last Friday the current president of the hall, Augustine Nana Abaka Bannin, catalogued problems facing the hall one of which he mentioned as having many students occupy a single room which hitherto was occupied by just one student.

He hoped to see a formidable and vibrant alumni association that will advance and protect the Casely Hayford Hall.

He pointed out that the government single-handedly cannot maintain the cost of rehabilitating their hall of residence and called on all - both home and abroad - to help in making the hall what it is supposed to be.

April 29 to May 1 has been fixed for the 'homecoming', expected to raise funds for the hall.

Present at the launch were both old and new members of the Casford.
