| Posted: Monday, April 25, 2005

The British High Commissioner Mr Gordon Wetherell has presented 3 suction machines and 1 standometer to the Department of Child Health, Korle-Bu, Accra.

The College of Health sciences, University of Ghana medical School sent a request to the International Re-constructive Plastic Surgery Ghana Project to provide some suction machines and a standometer to replace the existing ones, which were not functioning properly.

The International Re-constructive Plastic Surgery Ghana Project presented the request to the British High Commission, Accra and was awarded a sum of ¢40,365,000.00 (forty million, three hundred and sixty five thousand cedis) to purchase the items through the Small Grant Scheme.

The new suction machines would be used in wards and operating theatres in the department of child health and the standometer will be used in the outpatients department.

The British High Commission's Small Grants Scheme (SGS) is designed to operate flexibly, funding small community-level development projects, which benefit the poor.
