Dr Ernest Anderson, medical officer in charge of the Kwesiminstim Hospital in Takoradi said regular exercises, could reduce pressure and exhaustion among Ghanaian workers.
He said many Ghanaians become so busy that they have less time to exercise, eat properly and sleep less and thereby exposing themselves to sicknesses and diseases.
Dr Anderson said these when the Takoradi branch of ECOBANK presented a double door refrigerator and 100 pieces of bed sheets, valued at 20 million cedis to the Kwesiminstim Hospital on Saturday.
He said communities should form keep fit clubs, while parents should encourage their children to exercise daily.
Receiving the items, he expressed his appreciation to the bank for the items and pledged to ensure its proper use.
Senior Public Relations Officer of ECOBANK Mr Henry Ampong said the bank would soon introduce new products to meet the needs of a lot of Ghanaian workers and urged staff of the hospital to open accounts with the bank to enable them to benefit from some of the new products.
Mr Kojo Apenteng, a pharmacist of the hospital said the hospital needs lots of assistance to enable it to cope with the increasing healthcare demands.
He said with the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the demand for healthcare would increase more and without support from individuals and organisations, the hospital may be handicapped in handling the sick.
The bank staff later cleaned some wards of the hospital and interacted with some of the sick people on admission at the hospital.
