Harruna Attah writes on...
Whose idea was this?

| Posted: Tuesday, April 26, 2005

Ussher Fort Prison has a history. Remember the breakout during the PNDC days?

It's been a disused prison these past how many years… …Until our suspicious guests from Dafur landed on our shores a few weeks ago.

They are currently housed there. But whose idea was it to keep them there? Already, there are many question marks on these refugees.

Some people, and I am one of them, believe that there may (are) be dangerous elements among them.

And so housing them on our main High Street with such close proximity to our seat of government at the Osu Castle (about only three miles away) smacks of security smugness.

Even if our seat of government weren't that close by, I will still argue that the High Street is NOT the right place to house so many suspicious characters.

Aren't we perhaps dancing too close to the devil?
