Mr Joseph Oti-Asirifi Mensah, a sports presenter of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), has appealed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to suspend the use of the Swedru Sports Stadium for the gt Premier League because its facilities are in bad shape.
He said facilities at the stadium have deteriorated to such an extent that it can cause a disaster at any time. Speaking to GNA on Sunday, Mr Oti-Asirifi Mensah said the VIP Stand is a death trap and could crumble down at any time with the least pressure.
He said the pitch is not only undulating but sparsely grassed, making ball control difficult.
The presenter said all the three main entrances to the stadium couldn't be opened because the wooden gates were so weak.
The Western Stands has fallen off and some of the bare metals pose great danger to fans.
He expressed the hope that the GFA would heed to this appeal.
