Letter to Kwame (2)

| Posted: Tuesday, August 02, 2005

Kwame, you know, I am a very worried man. Again, it could be due to hormonal changes brought on by my approaching menopause – I don’t know if anything like that exists for men.

I am not talking of importance or any such erectile malfunction! Men I am told can go on and on till they fall dead. What I am trying to get across to you is that I do not view the world the same way as I used to some thirty years ago.

After so many fits and starts these past fifty years, now we have the chance to build our country, but what are we witnessing? The mixing of all kinds of flavours. The scent that is whiffing from the pot is distinctly scatological. It is the smell that is putting me off!

And that’s where my worry is coming from: the smell! By the way, July has just ended. For the records, I have not forgotten what Mr. and Mrs. Rawlings did to my Diabolic Friend and myself some 7 years ago (how time flies).

You remember how they so badly wanted us in jail that even when a High Court freed us from contempt charges, they got Justices Essilfie-Bondzie (Pornishment) and Sarpong (now dead) to rescind the lower court’s decision and sent us in for 30 days each! Justice Bennin (Good man) dissented with his two elderly colleagues though…I wonder where he is now… See you tomorrow, Kwame.
