New ADB President Donald Kaberuka assumes duty September

Mr. Donald Kaberuka, Rwanda's former Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, will be sworn in on September 1, 2005, as President of the African Development Bank Group for a five-year term. The inauguration ceremony will be held at the Bank's Temporary Relocation Agency in Tunis.
Mr. Kaberuka was elected President by the Board of Governors of the 77 member countries of the Bank Group in Tunis on 21 July 2005.
His predecessors were Messrs: Mamoun Beheiry of Sudan, 1964-1970; Abdelwahab Labidi of Tunisia, 1970-1976; Kwameh Donkor Fordwor of Ghana, 1976-1979; [Goodal Gondwe (Malawi) Interim (July '79-June '80)]; Wila Mung'Omba of Zambia, 1980-1985; Babacar Ndiaye of Senegal, 1985-1995; Omar Kabbaj of Morocco, 1995-2005.
