Areeba supports three associations

SCANCOM Ghana Limited, operators of Areeba Network, a cellular phone company has given ¢1.350 billions in the form of sponsorship into three sporting disciplines and a Division One league club.
The associations are the Ghana Tennis Association (GTA), Ghana Hockey Association (GHA), Handball Association of Ghana (HAG) and Nania FC the division one-league club. The package has ¢500 million for the GTA with ¢300 million each going for GHA and HAG, while Nania FC gets ¢250 million.
According to the package, the new partnership would give Areeba full branding rights such as title sponsorship for key tournaments, apparel branding for the national teams as well as non-voting membership of the various executive committees.
Speaking at the signing and presentation ceremony in Accra, Mr Ahmad Farroukh, Managing Director of Areeba, Ghana, said the company has assumed a key role in the development of Ghana sports as they have over the years demonstrated their commitment towards the development of sports.
He said the company would continue to support the development of sports in the country by increasing the package after the end of the contract. Mr Farroukh called on other corporate bodies to help in the development of sports in the country.
Mr Benson Tongo Baba, President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) assured the company that the package would be put into a judicious use.
