Yaa Broni goes to town
honest gabby, but what of the joy fm presenter?

| Posted: Tuesday, September 06, 2005

I was listening to the presenter of the morning show on Joy fm say Gabby Otchere-Darko, the Editor of the Statesman was trying too hard with the VP's alleged involvement in the FB I investigation. Well listening to this presenter I would certainly say he was not only biased but was also trying too hard to make something out of the thin thread he was holding.

At least Gabby did not deny the fact that he is sympathetic to the ruling party but most importantly he is objective with it. But what about you, Mr. Joy fm presenter? Are you also objective? I think not, not with most of your pronouncements.

When you put out the story that it was the son of a highly -placed politician, and you would put out the name soon, you were almost choking on your excitement and then you made a real dog's breakfast of the whole story in your bid to make create another "scandal". Well, good luck then!

stumbling blocks and stepping stones The NDC have won and congratulations to them but they should stop gloating and spewing out all manner of unrealities. Their delusions of grandeur will be the death of them.

As for the NPP, there are lessons to be learnt and so the people in charge of the organisational condiments should be up and doing. There are so many factors why the ruling party lost but at the end of the day it is not the overall yardstick to say the whole country is disillusioned with the policies of the government. What is also important to note is that the largest opposition party is practicing "dog eat dog" politicking and it is for the ruling government to beat them at their own game but not necessarily in the same vein.

Let the ruling party forget the mistakes and organise victory out of them for the difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is the way a man uses them. In 2000 the NPP won because people wanted change; this time round, it is about sustaining the already huge support base, increasing it and winning the 2008 elections.

political voices I would like to say this to the Minister for Information Mr. Dan Botwe. I was getting really worried. I certainly can see an improvement.

I was quiet impressed with the first vice chairman of the NPP Mr. Ntim, when he was interviewed on T.V 3 until he was asked about the phones being disconnected in the party headquarters and blamed the rank and file for abusing the phones. Well hello! Mr. Ntim, it smacks of a breakdown in managerial structures.

If the right measures were put in place and people were made accountable, the phones would be used wisely. They say a man can fail many times, but he is not a failure until he begins to blame somebody else. .So Mr. Ntim should not come and sit on air and blame the workers for the problem. It is an indictment on him as a senior person in the party.

a taxi chat Every time I sit in a taxi I strike up a conversation with the taxi driver. You will be surprised what you get to hear from some of them. So this taxi driver was taking me to the airport when we struck up a jolly interesting conversation. We talked about the influx of taxis and how it has become tough driving a taxi.

He turned to me and smiled and said he did not have that kind of problem because the university girls give him a lot of money. I nearly choked…But he explained that he has the numbers of these girls and what he does is to give the numbers to the well-to-do tourists he picks up as passengers who want a quick roll. He collects his commission and a hefty one at that. He concluded on the note that he could not complain about this lucrative pastime.

We seem to be sinking into depravity fast! The Aids Commission on the other hand shouts from the rooftops about protection and all ''Ye ko ye ana se ye baaye''. These girls don't use condoms according to this taxi driver for "raw" is equal to mega bucks.

It really does not bear thinking about. It is a vicious cycle, for these same girls have a campus lover and invariably a married man on the trot and the campus lover and the married man perhaps also have other women on the trot, so the STDs are having a field day and on a permanent merry-go-round. It is frightening and deadly. God save us!!!
