Sheik Ameen Bonsu, Managing Director of Ameen Scientific Herbal Clinic, has stated that herbal medicine has a bright future in the country.
He said, however, that this could be realised only when practitioners are proactive and attach importance to the promotion of herbal medicine.
Sheik Bonsu was speaking to journalists, whom he conducted round a new herbal treatment centre he had constructed at Atwima-Techiman in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District of Ashanti.
The centre cost more than one billion cedis and houses a production department, a control laboratory where the efficacy and potency of herbs are tested, massaging rooms, male and female wards and a library.
According to him, he is undertaking a further research into plant medicine in collaboration with the Institute of Alternative Medicine in Ghana and other institutions abroad.
Sheik Bonsu cautioned against sexually active men using drugs to enhance their sexual performances and said the practice could be harmful to them.
He asked people to watch their diets and women to constantly examine their breasts for the early detection of any unusual nodules for treatment.
