Barclays Ghana appoints new Corporate Director

Barclays Bank of Ghana Limited has appointed a new Corporate Director. He is Mr. John Kofi Adomakoh, formally the Head of Institutional Banking (Corporate Banking) of Ecobank Ghana Limited. He assumes office on Thursday, September1, 2005 and replaces Mr. Alhassan Andani, immediate past Director for Extended Countries Coverage for Barclays Africa.
Mr Adomakoh joins Barclays with over 13 years of banking experience, most of which has been at the managerial level. He joined Ecobank in 1997 as a Senior Relationship Manager and rose to become an Assistant Manager, and then the Deputy Manager of Institutional Banking- a position he held for three years. He was appointed the Head of Institutional (Corporate) Banking in 2002.
Between 1993 and 1997, Mr. Adomakoh worked for Meridian Bank Biao and then the trust bank in a number of senior positions.
He also has had a year’s stint with the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Accra, before moving on to Meridian Biao.
He has participated in various international training programmes on “International Business Transactions”- Moving from Manager to Leader” “High Performance Leadership” and a “Face- to – Face Selling Skills” workshop.
Mr. Adomakoh has also participated in various Euromoney training programmes on Corporate Finance (June 2004), International Trade Finance (July 2003), Client Relationship Management (February 2003) among others.
A product of St. Augustine’s College and the University of Ghana, Legon, the new Corporate Director of Barclays Bank of Ghana Limited holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the School of Business Studies of the University of Ghana.
