Amen Amenreynolds, Director of the Amen Amen Institute, an inter-denominational fellowship, has reminded Ghanaians of the need to remain peaceful and united.
"Ghanaians need to be united more than ever and help all democratically elected presidents move the country forward to enable it to achieve the aim of being the shining star in Africa", he declared.
He was speaking in an interview with the ADM in Accra yesterday. He added that division would create room for instability and set the country backward, as it is happening in other African countries.
He said: "Ghana is our only happy country, we must hold it with all our minds and souls and eschew backbiting, hatred, rumour mongering and attitude of 'pull him down.'"
Mr Amenreynolds, who is also the Founder of Flower Day - a festivity celebrated by the institute - said flowers stand for peace: "I therefore introduced it in the late 60s to remind Ghanaians that we need peace and unity in the country", he stressed.
He said the Amen Amen Institute would continue to play its civic role by educating Ghanaians on how to lead good and exemplary lives and coexist peacefully with their neighbours for national development.
