Police Chief Inspector Nketia-Yeboah said Kwofie confessed during interrogation that the land guards were hired by Mr Affotey of Nungua to guard the area, and each of them was paid 1.5 million cedis.

He said when their room at the site was searched; the police found a substance suspected to be acid, which was used to threaten developers who challenged them.

Police Chief Inspector Nketia-Yeboah said the substance had been sent to the police forensic laboratory.

In another development, Police Chief Inspector Nketia-Yeboah, said Mr Solomon Otu driver of an Excel Hyundai taxi had his car snatched from him on the Accra-Tema motorway by some young men who hired the taxi from Madina to Tema last Tuesday.
