The Minster for Education, Mr. Yaw Osafo Marfo, has urged teachers at Agona Duakwa in the Central Region to improve on their teaching skills to enable pupils in the area to perform well.

Speaking at the annual Akawnbo Festival of the chiefs and people of Agona Duakwa, the Minister said the performance of the pupils in the Basic Education Certificate Examination this year was not encouraging.

He therefore called on parents to cooperate with teachers to achieve better results in future examinations. He added that parents should invest in their children's education to make the children responsible adults in future.

The Minister urged the pupils in the area to make good use of educational facilities at their disposal.

The chief of Duakwa, Nana Kojo Muakwa V, called on parents to encourage the youth to develop interest in education.
