Last Saturday, from 9.15 am to 11.35 am, a meeting was held between some former NDC ministers, former MPs, sitting MPs, a female ranking member (DWM) and about 20 members of one of the party's terror groups. The meeting was chaired by a ranking member of the party who at one time was being considered for the chairmanship of the party. A native of the Brong Ahafo Region, he has shown remarkable loyalty over the years to party "founder" Jeremiah John Rawlings. The others, including one female are no less loyal; indeed, what marks them all out is their rabid loyalty to the "Leader of the Revolution". In Rawlings-Obed terms, they can all be described as belonging deeply in the Rawlings Camp.
The reason of this secret meeting was the impending "maaaassive demonstration" being planned by elements within the NDC and other anarchic groups.
Ostensibly to protest the Representation of People (Amendment) Bill, the "maaaassive demonstration" has more sinister motives: to create a state of chaos and instability in Ghana.
The chairman opened the meeting by congratulating the terror group on their consistency on calling into radio stations to rubbish and savage the Bill.
He instructed them to go back to their constituencies and other areas of influence to organize people for the march of chaos and instability.
In his contribution, the MP exhorted the group to "gather your people to storm parliament" and "show them red!" If there was any chilling reminder of what mayhem awaits Ghanaians these coming days that was it. Over the years, this particular MP has fathered some of the most violent actions of the NDC organizing thugs from Nima and other places to do the party's dirty jobs.
A former Deputy Minister, known more for his acerbic tongue than any management skills told the meeting that people are being "mobilized" from Takoradi and Kumasi to "come down for the demonstration", at which stage the chairman of the meeting cut in to tell the meeting that the man who these past few days has been touting the "maaaasive demonstration", Kwesi Pratt will also be part of the demonstration.
A member of the terror group then announced that the man who says he is an "Asomdwe Man" Professor Mills, was due to meet them the next day, that is this past Sunday, January 29.
He also disclosed that Minority Leader Alban Bagbin was in Kumasi preparing to meet the Kumasi wing of the group today, Tuesday January 31 at 5 pm. After going over the plans, the chairman of the meeting announced that the party "founder" would "like to meet" the group to brief them on "current happenings and the threat on his life."
The meeting closed and group members were handed some amounts of money. ADM's investigations continue...
