Repentance advocated for 2007

GNA | Posted: Monday, February 20, 2006

The network of Christian intercessors, Jubilee Ghana, has said Ghana must declare 2007 a Year of Jubilee with fasting, prayers and repentance to commemorate its 50th anniversary.

It said it is very important to recognise the time of God's blessings for the country, in order not to miss the opportunities that came with it.

Brother Peter Anamoh, Leader of Jubilee Ghana, said for God to fulfill His promises for the country, the nation's leadership needed to set a day aside to lead the nation in a period of repentance.

"God's promises are sure but repentance is the key to unlock God's blessing", he said. He proposed a regional prayer service in each of the 10 regions. "Just as Israel raised an altar to God and set aside 12 days, one day for each tribe to offer sacrifices, so must we also declare a season of national prayer and repentance with each region taking its turn on a given day."

He suggested days for regional prayer observation starting from the February 24 to March 6.

Brother Anamoh listed the days and regions, beginning from the Upper West, Upper East, Northern, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions on the February 24 to February 28, in that order.

He said the Western, Central, Eastern, Volta and Greater Accra Regions should take their turns from the March 1 to March 5.
