A R Harruna Attah writes on...
Come on Bagbin, what`s wrong with you?

| Posted: Wednesday, March 01, 2006

"… called on all lovers of peace and constitutional democracy to join the march on Thursday to protest the growing tyranny of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government."

When I read the above on my GNA files, I felt so sorry for my country. The country I so love and want to prosper. It was attributed to my fellow Northerner, Alban Bagbin.

"Growing tyranny?" What kind of sophistry is that? No, I am even being charitable. This is downright dishonesty.

But why? Tyranny in today's Ghana? Why would Bagbin engage in such dishonesty and in the process help push my country to the brink? Bagbin, why? The greater glory of Rawlings?

Not even for yourself…what a shame! Not the streets? Not demonstrations? Go on my dear mmabia, let Rawlings' will be your catechism, the fires of the Gotterdammerung you are wishing for and willing our country to embark on, when it finally arrives, would most probably consume you first.

This is neither a curse nor a promise, but what history has always held in store for people with your kind of blood lust!

Honestly, if I continue I will burst into tears…
